Fit! 5K For Their Future/Family Fun 1 Mile Walk
Towson, MD (August 11, 2013) – Fit Gym in Towson will
host Fit! 5k For Their Future/ Family Fun
1 Mile Walk on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The event will raise money for
the Madyson and
Annabel Volk College Foundation. Madyson is the daughter of Tracy
Volk, an instructor at Fit!, whose husband, Baltimore City Police Detective
Shane Volk, was killed in a car accident in early July. Tracy is currently 7
months pregnant with their second daughter who will be named Annabel.
The cost to
participate is $35. Every participant receives a t-shirt and the first 400 people
to register will receive a drawstring bag. Registration forms can be found
online at www.fitgymusa.com or at Fit!, located atop Luskins Hill, 1125 Cromwell
Bridge Rd.
Pre-registration will begin at 7 a.m. on
September 21 and the race will begin at 9 a.m. The 1 mile family fun walk will
begin at 9:15 a.m. At 10 a.m. there will be a tire
flipping contest- the person with the most flips in 90 seconds wins. The event will feature music by Dr. Spinn Entertainment. LaCakerie will be on-site with their new food
truck selling cupcakes with 50% of the proceeds going to the Volk Foundation.
Samples and giveaways from The Big Screen Store, Bill Batemans, EAS, Giant Food, GNC, The Green Turtle, PowerBar, Under Armour,
Vitamin Water, and Weis Grocery.
