Loch Raven UM Church Celebrates 60 years

Celebrating in 2013 60 years  of worship, mission service and fellowship, the Loch Raven United Methodist Church invites area residents and college students to attend Sunday morning worship services, held during the summer at 9:30am.
On June 21, 1953, a small group of folks gathered for the first time in a little white cottage at the corner of Loch Raven Blvd and Glendale Road. Three months later on September 13, 1953, Charter Sunday for the church was celebrated in a little white cottage at which time 102 persons out of 175 in attendance were taken into membership by the founding pastor Rev. Carroll Doggett. The members chose a name for themselves: Loch Raven Methodist Church.
