GPCC Community Dumpster Day

Let the Greater Parkville Community Council (GPCC) save you a trip to the County Landfill. Large dumpsters will be available to Parkville, Carney, and Cub Hill residents for the disposal of household refuse and yard debris. Disposing of unwanted items is on a first - come - first serve basis.

As part of the approval from the landfill, guidelines below must be followed. Acceptable Waste: General household rubbish such as small appliances, furniture, bicycles, yard waste, including items made of wood, plastic, glass, metal, etc. Lawn mowers must be drained of gasoline and oil before placing in dumpster. Unacceptable Waste: Electronics, refrigerators, air conditioners, tires, propane tanks, flammable chemicals, hazardous materials, liquids (such as paints, cleaning products, pesticides, antifreeze, motor oil, etc.), asbestos shingles, batteries, animal carcasses, and wood greater than 8 inches in diameter and 6 feet in length. Please note that the use of the dumpsters is for residents only and not contractors.

The GPCC will also hold its annual summer membership drive during the event. We encourage residents to update their 2011 membership or become a new member. Membership Dues are $10.00 for individuals and $7.00 for seniors, age 65 and older. You do not need to become a member to discard items in dumpsters.
