Greater Parkville Group Invites You to 'Jingle and Mingle'

The Greater Parkville Community Council hosts its annual holiday party Dec. 12.

The Greater Parkville Community Council has issued an invitation that sounds hard to turn down.

The group invites Parkville area residents to "jingle and mingle" at its annual holiday party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 12, at the Parkville Recreation and Senior Center, 8601 Harford Road.

The event includes a potluck dinner with "hearty foods" that promise to warm the stomach and desserts to satisfy the sweet tooth we all seem to grow this time of year.

With full bellies and satisfied sugar-loving canines and molars, partygoers are invited to compete for prizes in the group's annual holiday trivia contest.

Admission to the gathering is free, but organizers ask that you bring a small gift for a special senior in need as part of the Adopt-a-Senior for the Holidays campaign, sponsored by the Parkville Senior Center.

Needed items include sweaters, scarves, gloves, socks, slippers, bath towels, pots and pans, family games and toiletries.

The other thing expected of you? "Show up in the holiday spirit," according to organizers, is your main responsibility.

And, organizers say, feel free to invite your friends, neighbors and family members.

Who, by the way, will also be expected to display that "holiday spirit" and bring a donation if possible!
