Holiday Events in Parkville-Overlea

As Thanksgiving draws closer, churches, organizations and area bars are planning lots of events for the holiday season.


Where:
, 2004 Greenspring Drive in Timonium
When: Thursday, Nov. 17 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
What: A benefit wine & beer tasting for Santa Claus Anonymous, a nonprofit that gives Christmas presents to children in Maryland who would otherwise go without. The event includes wine from Chesapeake Wine, beer from Red Brick Station, an interactive chocolate display, a buffet, music, raffles, and an auction.
How Much? Tickets are $55 in advance or $65 at the door.

Thanksgiving Labyrinth Walk
Where:
St. Anthony of Padua Church, 4414 Frankford Ave.
When: Nov. 19, 2 p.m.
What: A stroll through the labyrinth on the church grounds and footwear collection for the homeless. You can donate at the event or contact the Friends of the Northeast Interfaith Peace Garden.


Where:
Cardinal Shehan School, 5407 Loch Raven Blvd.
When: Nov. 18, 8 p.m.; Nov. 19, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Nov. 20, 2 p.m.
What: The Matthew Players, a theater group based out of St. Matthew's Church, present their two-act musical interpretation of the holiday classic.
How Much? Tickets are $15.

Where:

When: Sunday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
What: A musical group featuring singers from all over central Maryland will present its seventh annual Christmas program. A free-will offering will be taken, with proceeds benefiting Victor's Vittles, the food bank at . . Light refreshments will be served following the concert.

, 6900 Belair Road
When: Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 9 p.m.-2 a.m.
What: Thanksgiving Eve is well-known for being the biggest bar night of the year and at local hotspot, , the Cell-Outz will be playing your favorites with DJ Knowledge spinning tunes during set breaks. The event includes a special midnight set from Stoned Demise.

When: Saturday, Nov. 26, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
What: Family fun at one of the area's best kept secrets. Bring out the entire family for a one-hour-long self-guided tour of the park, starting at the Willow Grove Nature Education Center.
