Santa and the Missus, Tree Lighting in Carney Sunday

The annual visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Carney tree lighting will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carney Elementary School.

Now in big demand for personal appearances, Santa Claus is making one of his first stops of the 2013 holiday season in the Carney community.

The annual visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and the Carney community tree lighting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carney Elementary School, 3131 E. Joppa Road.

Bring your camera to take your own free photos as your children take their turn visiting with the benevolent couple.

The  tree lighting will take place when darkness falls, around 5:45 p.m., according to organizers.

Goodies will be served with soft drinks, coffee and tea, according to organizers.

The event is free, but organizers ask visitors to bring donations of nonperishable food items for the community's needy.

Santa's visit and the tree lighting are sponsored by the Carney Improvement Association and Carney Elementary School.
