Exciting Updates For White Marsh Mall’s Food Court Refresh

As the Food Court refresh nears completion, it seems like each week is busier than the next here at White Marsh Mall. But during this past week, we’ve seen some of the most impressive changes and improvements of the summer!

First off, we replaced all of the old furniture – that’s nearly 2000 tables and chairs – to make way the new ones.  Fortunately, we were able to donate them to charity instead of a landfill.  The new sets look terrific, are very comfortable, easy to move around, and give everything a bold, fresh new look.  We showed you some pictures of the new furniture in a recent post, but if you didn’t see it, here’s a

To go along with the beautiful new furniture, we added a terrific accent feature where the old planter rings were located. The access ramp now showcases a chic metal railing that the crews from Woods Construction have been busy putting together over the last few nights. But just because we removed the old planters, doesn’t mean we got rid of our beautiful plants in the Food Court!  A lovely new planter area has been installed near the entrance and I think it really adds a relaxing and homey touch to our dining area here at White Marsh Mall. There’s a picture attached for you to see.

So far we love what we’re seeing and can’t wait for the end result! Take a look at the pictures and mark your calendar for September 8th from 1:30-3:30 for a community celebration to mark the end of our refresh. More details about this exciting event, which will be held in the new Food Court, to come next week!

Have a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend!

What is sad for me is that many years ago, I would have been excited to see this, since I always took my family there for lots of shopping, stopping for a meal and putting the kids on the merry-go-round. I hadn't been to the mall in several years and made the horrifying error of going there on a Friday night recently. I was knocked into by one in a group of teens and told to "back the f off" (in the presence of my child) and in a movie store, was browsing family selections with my family when a group of several older teens came in cussing loudly and making crude jokes in full view of my family. I'm not a prude nor do I believe that every teen should be on their perfect behavior in every social situation, but the mall has turned into a place where I'd rather not be. I'll spend my money elsewhere along with many people I spoke to who expressed the same type of experiences. Reminds me of how they "refurbished" Golden Ring before that was taken over as well.
