Love, Love, Love... Love Yourself!

As you know, February is the month of love. Valentine's Day is only a few days away and many will be spending various sums of money on people they love or like.

As you know, February is the month of love. Valentine's Day is today and many will be spending various sums of money on people they love or like. That is great. For this year going forward, you need  to know that it is important to show love to yourself...not just once a year, but on a regular basis.

There are many, especially women, who have a hard time receiving from others and making the time to put themselves first. Putting yourself first does not mean that you don't care about others or that you care about them less. It does mean that you take the time to get what you need regarding your mental and physical health so when others call on you, you are ready and able to assist them.

Time for yourself might mean:
1. Taking a hot bath without interruption.
2. Spending the night or weekend alone at home or a hotel.
3. Doing things that you really enjoy: a class, a lecture, a concert,
or catching up with friends.
4. Getting regular physical exercise.
5. Saying NO sometimes to requests for your time.

Finally, the most important way you can show love for yourself is forgiveness.

Forgive yourself for not:

  • being perfect,
  • losing all the weight you planned,
  • losing all the weight others wanted,
  • being where you thought you would be at this time in your life,
  • and whatever else you want to add to this list.

It is time to forgive yourself so you can get on with your wonderful and happy new life. The past is passed. TODAY IS A NEW DAY with new opportunities to LOVE YOU!
