book review

For my very first Parkville-Overlea Patch blog post, I thought I would do an extended version of something I love participating in on Twitter: Friday reads.

At the moment, I’m almost done reading Jeremy Mercer’s Time Was Soft There: A Paris Sojourn at Shakespeare and Company, and will probably start Hidden, by P. C. and Kristin Cast later today.

Time Was Soft There is a memoir about Mercer’s stay in Shakespeare and Company, a famous bookstore in Paris, where the owner let people sleep in his bookstore, sometimes for only a couple nights and sometimes for as long as five years, in one case. I like it a lot.

Hidden looks to be a vampire/witch novel for young adults, something along the lines of what Stephenie Meyers and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote.
