The House of Tyneford is a historical novel. Set mainly in England and Vienna, Austria during the Holocaust, it revoles around Elise, a 19-year-old Jew. Before the Holocaust, Elise's family was wealthy and lived in a nice area of Vienna; however, once the Holocaust commenced, they had to leave or risk being sent to concentration canmps and possibly killed. Elise got job as a maid in England at a country manor, while her sister and parents went on to America.

I liked The House at Tyneford. It was heartbreaking, at times, but definitely engaging. I've read several books set during this horrific time period, but The House at Tyneford was one of the more memorable books, in part because of Elise's naivete and innocence in the beginning. I can't speak to the accuracy of pre-Holocaust Austria, but some of the other parts of the book seem fairly accurate.
