Visions for Vacancies: Hikari Sushi

Carney Village Shopping Center at the intersection of Harford and Joppa Roads is generally a hive of activity.

Anchored by a Mars supermarket, the shopping center is home to a , an eye doctor, an Asian restaurant and a branch — an outlying building houses Raimondi's Florist and the new Yia Yia's Bakery branch.

There's only one vacancy in the entire shopping center—a space close to the anchor store formerly occupied by Japanese restaurant .

The space, managed by Continental Realty, has been vacant for close to a year, and it doesn't look as though any work has been going on there.

Representatives from Continental did not return a phone call seeking comment about the location.

We've had some excellent suggestions for the space that used to house the or the former Schaefer & Strominger dealership on Belair Road.
