What is happening to Parkville - 2 stores, 1 fast food, and a famous restaurant have closed in the last couple of months

What is happening to Parkville.  Two stores in Parkville Shopping Center closed - Dollar Store and Pat's Hallmark.  Then Burger King on Harford Road.  If that wasn't shocking enough I just heard that Pappas Restaurant on Taylor Avenue is closing.  What is going on?
