Area Men Arrested After Attempted Armed Robbery

Three men from the Parkville, Overlea and Rosedale areas were arrested Saturday after they tried to rob a Pikesville man at Quarry Lake Shopping Center.

Andrew Lee Jackson, 22, of Rosedale, Anthony Neville Jones, 21, of Parkville, and Devonte Lamont Branch, 23, of Overlea were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery after their car was stopped by police on Rossville Boulevard in Rossville, according to a police report.

The three would-be robbers arranged to meet the victim on Quarry Lake Drive in Pikesville in order to sell him an Apple iPhone 4S, according to a police report.

The victim, who had previously been the victim of a crime during such a transaction, brought friends with him to observe the transaction, according to police.

Watching from a distance, the victim's friends saw three men, armed with a black handgun, approaching the victim and signaled for him to flee, which he did, police said.

The victim called police and identified one of his would-be robbers, Jackson, who was arrested and charged with robbing the same victim near Fontana Village using the same method in December, police said.

The victim also identified the vehicle the would-be robbers were using, which was later stopped in the Rosedale area. A search of the vehicle revealed a black handgun and the three men were arrested.

Jackson, who spent a week at the Baltimore County Detention Center after being arrested in connection with the first robbery, was released after posting $250,000 bond. Jackson awaits further adjudication in Circuit Court in the December case.

Jones was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center after posting $100,000 bond. Branch is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
