Baltimore County Fire Service Memorial Scheduled for Sunday

The service at Towson United Methodist Church will honor 44 Baltimore County fire service members who died this year.

A ceremony to remember the 44 members of the Baltimore County fire service who died during the past year is scheduled for Sunday.

The service is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, according to a news release.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Fire Chief John Hohman are scheduled to attend and participate in a wreath-laying ceremony.

According to the release, 10 career and 34 volunteer firefighters have died this year, including Firefighter Gene Kirchner who died eight days after being injured during a rescue in Reisterstown on April 24.
