Baltimore County Police to Hold Promotion Ceremony

One will be reassigned to Parkville Precinct 8 and one will head to White Marsh Precinct 9 following their promotions.

The Baltimore County Police Department will hold a promotion ceremony at 10 a.m. June 5, at the Dundalk campus of The Community College of Baltimore County.

Police Chief James Johnson is scheduled to present certificates to the department members being promoted, according to a statement. The oath of office will be administered by Clerk of the Circuit Court Julie Ensor, and the invocation and benediction will be offered by the Rev. Paul Palazzi, police chaplain.

Rick E. Shull Jr. will be reassigned to Parkville Police Precinct 8 following his promotion from corporal to sergeant.

Michael T. Mertz will be assigned to White Marsh Police Precinct 9 following his promotion from officer to corporal.

Seventeen officers are scheduled to be promoted at the ceremony. The entire list can be viewed on the department's website.
