Baltimore Officer, Bel Air Native, Dies In Glen Arm Crash

Shane Volk, 32, of Bel Air, was killed in a one-car crash.

A Baltimore City police officer is dead after his car crashed into an embankment in the Glen Arm area early Wednesday, ejecting him from the vehicle, police said. 

Shane Volk, 32, of Bel Air, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the wreck around 1:50 a.m. July 10, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department. 

Volk was travelling northbound on Glen Arm Road when his 2007 Jeep Wrangler went off the road just north of Long Green Pike, struck an embankment, and then hit two mailboxes, ultimately ejecting the driver, the news release states. 

The investigation is ongoing, the release states.
