County Police Charge Suspect in Goodwill Store Robberies

The suspect was a former Goodwill employee, according to police.

Baltimore County police have arrested a 29-year-old Baltimore City man and charged him with being involved in recent robberies of Goodwill stores.

Patch has written previously about the Goodwill robberies on Joppa Road and Padonia Road.  

Here is a press statement released Saturday from the Baltimore County Police Department that identified the suspect as a former Goodwill employee at the Padonia Road store in Cockeysville:

"Baltimore County Police have charged a man for his involvement in a string of armed robberies targeting Goodwill stores throughout the County. Richard Carvan Pettaway, 29, of the 2000-block of Ramblewood Road, 21239 has been charged with five counts of armed robbery and three counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence.

"Pettaway is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. The investigation identified Pettaway, a former Goodwill employee, as the suspect in the robberies. Additional information is not available at this time due to the on-going investigation."
