Carney Couple Charged with Stealing Fullerton Pit Bull

Police arrested and charged the couple Thursday.

Baltimore County police have arrested a husband and wife from Carney and charged them with breaking into a Fullerton home and with stealing a pit bull last week, according to a news release.

At about 3:30 p.m. on June 10, police responded to a report of a burglary along the 200 block of Leslie Avenue. Police said a man and woman had broken into a house and removed a brindle colored pit bull named Mya.

The dog was in the house alone, according to the news release. The owner lived at another location and had been checking on the dog daily.

The husband and wife were arrested and charged Thursday with first degree burglary and theft less than $1,000. Both have been released from police custody, police said.

Their motive for taking the dog is unknown, according to the news release. Early in the investigation, however, White Marsh police precinct officials said the husband and wife believed they were rescuing the dog.
