Crime: Arrests Made in Several Thefts from Auto

A few residential burglaries and an otherwise quiet week for the Overlea-Fullerton & Rosedale areas, according to Precinct 9 police.

Mar. 23 between 12 a.m. and 2:19 a.m. — Two men and a juvenile were arrested after driving around neighborhoods in northeastern Baltimore County stealing items from unlocked vehicles, according to Baltimore County Police.

The incidents spanned neighborhoods from Dundalk to Parkville, including Middle River, Rosedale and Overlea, White Marsh precinct Captain Michael Balog told Patch.

A witness to one of the thefts called police with description of the supects and the license plate number of the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu they were driving. Officers responded to Poles Road in Essex, where they located the vehicle, according to a police report.

Subsequently, police were able to arrest James Pietro of Essex and Jose Ches of Sparrows Point. The men were charged in seven thefts from automobiles that took place that night.  A third individual was also arrested and charged as a juvenile, according to the police report.

Police are still investigating the incident to determine if the men might have previously stolen from other vehicles in the area.

Mar. 23 between 7:50 a.m. and 5 p.m. — A burglar broke into a home in the 2000 block of Kelbourne Avenue in Rosedale. After kicking in the front door to gain entry, the burglar ransacked the victim's dresser. Nothing was stolen.

Mar. 22 between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. — A video game system and games were stolen from a home in the 6500 block of Langdale Road in Rosedale. The burglar kicked in the basement door to gain access, then stole the items.

Between 4 p.m. Mar. 20 and 3:15 p.m. Mar. 21 — The lock on the back door to a home in the 4300 block of Kenwood Avenue was found damaged after someone attempted to break into the home. Entry was not gained.
