Crime: Cars Broken Into At Comfort Inn

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Oakleigh

Berrywood Road, 1800 block. Between 6:10 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. July 29. A purse was stolen from a home while the victim was out walking her dog. The door to the residence was closed, but unlocked.

Oak Road, 8500 block. Between 7 p.m. July 28 and 10 a.m. July 29. A multi-colored umbrella was stolen from the fenced yard of a home.

Chestnut Oak Road, 8600 block. At 5:49 p.m. on July 28. A man broke into his father's ex-girlfriend's home in order to retrieve his father's property. A juvenile was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary. The juvenile had never lived at the residence and did not have permission to be there. The suspect's father was unaware of the incident. 

Loch Raven

Loch Raven Boulevard, 8800 block. Between 9 p.m. July 26 and 6:45 a.m. July 27. Three cars parked at the Comfort Inn were broken into after their driver's side windows were smashed. Items stolen include a Garmin 4150 GPS unit, a Garmin Nuvi, a Cobra radar detector, a Kodak camera, a garage door remote, a cell phone charger, and a Bluetooth earpiece.

Glen Keith Boulevard, 1800 block. Between 5 p.m. July 22 and 7 a.m. July 25. Batteries were stolen from two Department of Aging buses by burglars who entered a fenced-in parking lot housing the vehicles.

Hillendale

Hillendale Road, 7700 block. At 10:10 a.m. on July 30. An apartment complex employee saw a man inside of a vacant apartment. It was later discovered in a photo that the man who broke into the apartment was the son of the previous tenant who had been evicted. No one was arrested or charged in connection with the incident.

Solar Circle, unit block. Between 10:45 and 10:51 a.m.  on July 31. A woman was accused of breaking into an apartment being rented by her daughter and assaulting her. Tonia Patrice Lawson was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and second-degree assault. A car key that had not been returned allegedly sparked an argument that led to the altercation, according to a police report.

Loch Raven Boulevard & Glendale Road. At 3:45 a.m. on July 29. A man got off of a bus and was walking away from the bus stop when he was struck in the head by another man and knocked to the ground. Another man then removed the victim's wallet from his back pocket, and the two suspects fled the scene.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 6600 block. Between 5 p.m. July 26 and 5:40 p.m. July 27. An air conditioning unit at Loch Hill Ekklesia Church was destroyed and the copper coil inside was stolen.
