Crime Log: Hillendale Man Beaten, Robbed After Assailants Ask for Cigarette

Hillendale
Mercury Court, unit block. Between 2:30 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., July 20. A Mossberg pistol grip, a black pump shotgun and a white gold pendant with a 4.5 karat diamond were taken in a burglary.
When the victim's roommate -- who arrived home while the burglary was in progress -- tried to unlock the deadbolt on the front door, the burglar, still inside the residence, re-locked it. By the time the roommate entered, a sliding door was open and the burglar was gone.

Wycliffe Road, 1700 block. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., July 20. A black scooter was taken from an unlocked shed.
Chestnut Oak and Yakona roads. At 9:19 a.m., June 23. A man asked the victim for a cigarette. Then the man, along with four others, attacked the victim. The assailants went through the victim's pockets and stole $260.
