Crime: Quick Stop Food Mart Burglarized, Cash Stolen

Carney

Proctor Lane, 2700 block. At 5:05 p.m. Aug. 15. A bike was stolen from the front of a home. The victim was leaving his house when he saw several juveniles gathered on the sidewalk — so the resident circled around and noticed that one of the kids was riding away on one of his children's bicycles.

The resident followed the juvenile until he got off the bike near a dead end street and fled. Police conducted a search, but were unable to locate the suspect.

5th Avenue, 2700 block. Between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. Aug. 15. Two bicycles, valued at a total of $250 were stolen from the porch of a home. The bicycles are described as a red Schwinn and a purple Schwinn.

Joppa Road, 3300 block. Between 11:15 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6 a.m. Aug. 16. A large amount of cash was stolen from the registers, safe and ATM inside the Quick Stop Food Mart, Baltimore County police said. The suspect gained entry via a side door to the business, cut the alarm wires and also stole a DVR recording system.

Parkville

Harford Road, 9000 block. Between 9:30 a.m. Aug. 11 and 11:54 a.m. Aug. 15. Someone forced open the rear door of a home and ransacked the residence. It was unknown at the time the report was written what, if anything, was stolen.

Nottingham

Canoga Place, unit block. Between 4 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. Aug. 15. A .45 caliber Springfield semi-automatic handgun, three magazines of ammunition, an iPhone4, a laptop computer, a checkbook, cash, a 24-carat necklace, a Playstation 3 and a video game were reported stolen from an apartment. 

Ridgetown Drive, 8100 block. At 6 p.m. Aug. 15. A woman entered her apartment to find an unknown man inside. The man told the victim that he had the wrong apartment and was looking for his friend; when no one answered the door he picked the lock. The man then left the woman's apartment. Entry to the apartment was not forced, nothing was reported ransacked or stolen.

Bellridge Road, 7900 block. Between 11 p.m. Aug. 15 and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16. An X-Box game system was reported stolen from an apartment. A neighbor told police that he saw a black male in his 20's wearing a brown shirt and baggy jeans knocking on the victim's door and doing something to the locks.

Hartack Court, unit block. Two bicycles were reported stolen from a fenced-in back yard. Police arrested three juvenile males a short distance away from the scene and charged them with fourth-degree burglary.
