Crime Rates Fall in Parkville, White Marsh Police Precincts

Local precincts reflect a countywide drop in crime.

Countywide, crime is trending downward—there was a 7 percent overall decrease in crime during 2010, officials said.

The neighborhoods in Parkville-Overlea Patch fall under the jurisdiction of both Precinct 8, located in Parkville, and Precinct 9, located in White Marsh. The dividing line between the precincts falls along Belair Road.

Crime statistics from the Parkville precinct should accurately reflect crime trends in the Parkville and Carney areas, as the majority of the area covered by the precinct falls within those neighborhoods.

However, the crime statistics from White Marsh precinct may not accurately portray crime trends in Overlea-Fullerton, as Precinct 9 also covers Rosedale, Kingsville and Perry Hall.
