No one was injured when a fire broke out Tuesday morning in the basement of a Carney-area home.
Firefighters arrived around 7 a.m. to find heavy smoke pouring from the home in the 9600 block of Harding Avenue, according to fire spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.
Firefighters briefly searched for people inside the home but found no one. The spread of the blaze was quickly contained but firefighters needed two hours to put it out.
The number of people displaced by the fire was not available, Rogers-Feher said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation Tuesday afternoon, she added.
