The fire apparently started in the basement of a home, no one was injured.

No one was injured when a fire broke out Tuesday morning in the basement of a Carney-area home.

Firefighters arrived around 7 a.m. to find heavy smoke pouring from the home in the 9600 block of Harding Avenue, according to fire spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

Firefighters briefly searched for people inside the home but found no one. The spread of the blaze was quickly contained but firefighters needed two hours to put it out.
