Hillendale/Loch Raven Crime: 7-Eleven Robbed at Knifepoint

Hillendale

Taylor Avenue, 1300 block. 5:31 a.m., Sept. 20. At the 7-Eleven, a man holding a rusty knife held up the clerk. He stole $30 and fled.

Taylor Avenue, 1000 block. Between 2:30 p.m., Sept. 23 and 8 a.m., Sept. 24. A bank bag containing $564.43 and a credit card machine were reported stolen from The Stone Foundation. Police said they found signs of forced entry.

Taylor Avenue, 1500 block. 7:30 a.m., Sept. 25. A woman told police that she noticed two of her uncles taking building materials from her home, where they had been doing renovation work until they were fired the previous day. Police said they later arrested Mark Eugene Bell, 52, of the 4000 block of Muddy Creek Road in Virginia Beach and Richard Steven Morrow, 46, of the 1900 block of Summit Ave. in Rosedale in connection with the case.

English Oak Road, 6600 block. 10:10 p.m., Sept. 23. A cab driver told police he drove two men to the location when one held him at gunpoint. The men stole $20 and two cell phones.
