Loch Raven/Hillendale Crime: Burglar Chased Off By Man With Sword

Glen Keith Boulevard, 1700 block. 10 p.m. Feb. 1. A burglar got into a house by breaking the glass on a rear door, but was chased out by a resident carrying a sword.
East Joppa Road, 1600 block. 9 p.m. Feb. 1. Beav's Smoke House was robbed by a man wielding a box cutter. The robber took $740 in $20 bills and ran toward Loch Raven Boulevard.

Police later arrested Jon Eric Carlson, 52, of the 1600 block of Ridgely Court in Crofton, on robbery, theft and assault charges.
He is currently being held at the on $100,000 bail.

East Joppa Road, 1700 block. 2 a.m. Feb. 1. Two men had an altercation with two other men. One stabbed another in the abdomen. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.
