Loch Raven/Hillendale Crime: Multiple Street Robberies

Loch Raven

Pleasant Plains Road, 8600 block. 4:05 a.m. Dec. 9. A man approached a 7-Eleven store clerk, produced a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the money from the register. Police said he took the money and fled.

East Joppa Road, 1300 block. Between 5:44 a.m. and 6:02 a.m. Dec. 10. Someone used a 12-inch pole to break windows at Loane Brothers and stole a shovel. A driver's license left at the scene led police to arrest Shawn Sandhu, 26, of the 6800 block of Harrowdale Road in Northwest Baltimore. Police said he has been charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property. He was released Sunday on $35,000 bail, police said.

Loch Bend Drive, 8700 block. 10:20 p.m. Dec. 10. A man approached a victim with a black semiautomatic handgun and told the victim to throw his money on the ground. He then fled toward Joppa Road with $130 cash. 

Loch Raven Boulevard, 8400 block. 8 p.m. Dec. 10. Residents heard noise and smelled marijuana coming from a vacant apartment. Police found people had entered through a rear window screen and saw trash throughout the apartment and found vomit on a carpet.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 6600 block. Between 7:15 p.m. Dec. 11 and 6:20 a.m. Dec. 12. Someone broke side windows to enter Loch Raven United Methodist Church. According to police, the burglar then ransacked two offices and stole $10 cash from a soda machine.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 6800 block. 7:29 a.m. Dec. 7. A man withdrew money from an M&T Bank ATM and walked toward his car. A man tapped him on the shoulder and when the victim turned around, punched him in the stomach, kicked him in the leg and threatened to cut him if he did not hand over his money. The victim complied and the robber fled with $141.

Glen Keith Boulevard, 1700 block. 4:40 a.m. Dec. 5. Two officers responded to a domestic complaint and a woman allegedly pointed a BB gun (which appeared to be a handgun) at an officer, police said. Police arrested resident Karisha Lee Johnson, 21. She is charged with five counts of assault and is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $150,000 bail, police said.

Hillendale

Taylor Avenue, 1800 block. 6:50 p.m. Dec. 11. A woman was walking to her car when she was struck with an unknown object and knocked unconscious. A robber stole her wallet, which contained $100, police said.

Dalton Road, 1300 block. Between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 5. Five rings, earrings, a bracelet and a necklace were reported taken from a jewelry box, police said. A front door was kicked in to gain entry.
