Man Found Dead In Baltimore Apartment Linked To Hillendale Woman's Slaying

Police say they believe the man may be Veronica Glover's estranged husband.

Police say they believe a man found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Baltimore City apartment late Wednesday used the same gun linked to a Hillendale woman's Tuesday shooting death. The man has not been identified.

Police Wednesday morning announced they were searching for Cory Shirell Bowman, 38, the estranged husband of 28-year-old shooting victim Veronica Vernetta Glover who was gunned down in front of her Dalton Court home Aug. 13.

By late afternoon, police obtained an arrest warrant for Bowman on charges of first-degree murder, according to police spokeswoman Elise Armacost. Initially, police were searching for Bowman on a warrant for a failure to appear in court on assault charges involving Glover, Armacost wrote in an email.

Officers were then able to connect Bowman to the shotgun used in Glover's slaying and found that he made statements connecting him to the murder, Armacost wrote.

Although the man found dead in the 1500 block of May Court in Baltimore hasn't been identified, police say that an acquaintance of Bowman lives there. The man was alone in the apartment when he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

"Police believe that the weapon he used to kill himself is the same weapon used to kill Glover; they are waiting for confirmation of this detail," Armacost wrote.
