Missing Parkville Teen Found, Home Safe

Brooke Amanda Springer was found Wednesday night after she was missing for over a week.

The search for a Parkville teenager, who went missing on May 14, has come to an end: Brooke Amanda Springer was found and reunited with her family Wednesday night.

The 15-year-old student went missing after telling her father she was going to walk to the store in the 8200 block of Harford Road on the night of May 14.

According to police, Brooke was found around 9:30 p.m. May 23 on Reisterstown Road near the Baltimore City line after an "extensive investigation by the Baltimore County police department Crimes Against Children Unit."

"She was found alive and well," said Baltimore County police department spokeswoman Det. Cathleen Batton.

On a Facebook page dedicated to bringing the girl home Brooke's father, Greg Springer, wrote: "to everyone who helped in anyway , particularly Sgt.Meyer & Detective Hammond and the rest of his task force as well as Frank & Victoria from Team Hope at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children ... Words cannot express the joy im overcome with to have my baby girl back."

The girl's older sister, Brittany Leah Fritz, also expressed joy at Brooke's safe return.

"MY LITTLE SISTER HAS BEEN FOUND! THANKS TO ALL WHO WERE THERE AND HELPED US IN THIS TOUGH TIME! :) OMG THIS HAS TO BE THE GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!" she wrote on the Facebook page.

And thanks to you, Parkville-Overlea Patch readers, for sharing Brooke's story on social media and keeping your eye out for the missing girl.

Take a breath and try to leave a comment based in reality, please. (or at least something remotely related to the article)

This is certainly reality. I live on the next street over and everyday after dinner time the children at her house are outside partying, beer bottles cover the table. I could call the police about the underage drinking and foul language but I am afraid of the boys. They are not too nice.

I would call the Fuzz - to Hell with them...and tell the Police what you have stated here. Having neighbors that are bullies - adults or kids is WHY THE GHETTO IS THE GHETTO. Give them Hell.

I used to know her personally, as she was one of my students at an after school club. Knowing her personality and rebelious nature she always had, I am pretty sure she ran away. Friends of hers told me various stories they had heard about where she ran away and with whom.
