Oak Road Blaze Injures One

A Sunday night fire left one adult injured and another displaced.

One adult was injured and another displaced after a fire Sunday night in Parkville.

Firefighters arrived at the home on the 8600 block of Oak Road around 8:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke pouring from the building. Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly 90 minutes, according to fire officials.

Two adults managed to escape the blaze. One of them, a woman, was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, fire officials said.

One adult resident of the home was referred to the Red Cross for assistance, according the fire department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
