Officer Injured In One-Car Crash Early Wednesday

A Baltimore County police officer was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on the Beltway early Wednesday.

The injured officer was driving a marked vehicle on the Beltway's inner loop southbound with lights and sirens on around 1 a.m. Wednesday while responding to a call for service on a violent domestic case, according to police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

As the officer's vehicle exited the highway onto southbound Belair Road, it struck a raised concrete divider, and ended up in a southbound lane of Belair Road, Rogers-Feher said.

The officer, who Rogers-Feher identified as "Officer Barton" from Parkville precinct was transported to Shock Trauma and released.
