One Arrested After Nottingham Shoe Robbery, Officer Assault

A Carney juvenile has been arrested and charged as an adult for what police say was his involvement in a street robbery Tuesday evening in Nottingham, and a later assault against a police officer.

Paul Alfonso Gonzalez, 17, was arrested and charged with robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, theft, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and resisting or interfering with arrest.

A booking photo of Gonzalez was not available due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

On Dec. 4 Gonzalez and a group of 4 other individuals allegedly attacked two juveniles in the area of Kinfield Drive and Kinwall Place. During the course of the assault, the group stole a pair of silver Nike Foamposite shoes, according to a police report.

The victims in the robbery said that Gonzalez and the others fled in a silver 4-door Mazda with a black stripe down the hood, roof and trunk, according to a police report.

On Dec. 5 two Baltimore County detectives were attempting to speak with Gonzalez at his home in the 9300 block of Orbitan Road about the Tuesday night robbery. When they arrived, officers immediately noticed there was a silver Mazda with a black stripe down the hood, roof and truck parked outside the home, a police report says.

The officers knocked on the door and identified themselves, the report says, but no one answered. They parked nearby and watched the home for a short time, until Gonzalez left and got into the Mazda, according to the report.

One officer pulled his police vehicle behind Gonzalez’s car while the other officer approached and told Gonzalez to get out of the car. Gonzalez accelerated in reverse and rammed the police vehicle, the report says. Gonzalez was then arrested.

A search of electronic court records shows that Gonzalez, is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
