Overlea/Fullerton Crime: Elmwood Juvenile Arrested in Armed Robbery

Old Home Road, 400 block. Between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Oct. 31. A 12-year-old boy was reportedly robbed of candy at knifepoint by a 14-year-old boy he knew from school. The victim was cut on the neck and back, but was not hospitalized, police said.

The suspect, who was not identified, was arrested and charged with armed robbery before being released to the custody of his parents, police said.

Hazelwood Avenue, 4900 block. Between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Nov. 1. Cash and 156 packs of Newport cigarettes were reported stolen from Charlie Brown's after a burglar cut the exterior phone lines and power to the business before breaking the glass on the front door to get inside, police said.

Hazelwood Avenue, 6400 block. Between 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 1 p.m. Oct. 30. A variety of power tools were reported stolen from a garage at Hazelwood Body and Fender.

Point Pleasant Road, 6000 block. Between 10:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Oct. 28. Prescription drugs were reported stolen from a home after a burglar forced open a basement window and ransacked the house, police said.
