Parkville/Carney Crime: Burglaries Continue to Affect Area

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases were a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Taylor Avenue, 2100 block, between 7:20 a.m. and 3 p.m., Dec. 5. Five house keys were stolen from a home after entry was gained by breaking the glass on a rear basement door. Police said this burglary is part of a broader trend of burglaries that have taken place in the precinct since Nov. 1.

Farmingham Court, unit block, between 11:30 and 11:40 p.m., Dec. 1. A backpack that was being used to prop open an apartment door was stolen. The bag contained two laptop computers, a cell phone, a pair of shoes, some clothing, a watch, keys, a drivers license and cologne, a loss of more than $2,500.

Chenoak Avenue, 2800 block, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Dec. 2. A Nintendo Wii gaming system, several Wii accessories and games, a security bond and two social security cards were stolen from a home, an estimated loss of $1,374. During the burglary a basement window and nearby shelf were destroyed, causing over $200 in damages.

Foster Avenue, 2300 block, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Dec. 2. A yellow outdoor extension cord was stolen from the fenced-in yard of a home.

Branchcourt Avenue, 3500 block, between 9 a.m. and 12:50 p.m., Dec. 5. Two televisions, a men's watch, jewelry, shoes, a belt and a laptop computer were stolen from a home, a loss of more than $7,200. Entry was gained by forcing open a locked screen door as well as a locked and deadbolted front door, destroying the door frame and causing $500 in damages.
