Parkville/Carney Crime: Man Arrested After Alleged Theft From Auto

Dylan John England, 19, was arrested late Monday night and charged with two counts fourth-degree burglary, according to officials with Baltimore County police.

Police say that England, who lives in the 9700 block of Deltom Court, broke into an unlocked car in the 3700 block of Green Oak Court and stole a gold tie tack, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of Baltimore Ravens gloves and $3.47 in cash around 11 p.m. Mar. 19.

The victim, who was at home at the time the burglary occurred, called police and told them she saw a white man in a green and white hoodie break into her vehicle. The victim told police that the man, upon seeing her, allegedly threatened to come back and stab her, according to a police report.

When police arrived on the scene, the man, later identified as England, was there and took off running toward the back of the house where the vehicle was parked and unsucessfully tried to climb a fence, the report states.

After a short foot chase, the police officer lost sight of the England and began checking the area. A short time later, the officer found the alleged burglar hiding in a shed behind the 3700 block of Fieldcreek way, the report states.

When the officer ordered England to leave the shed and the he refused, the officer used pepper spray on him, then arrested him outside the shed, according to the report.

Another officer who responded to the scene "immediately recognized" the suspect as Dylan John England, who had previously been arrested for stealing from vehicles in August 2011 and in December 2011.

Detective Cathy Batton of the Baltimore County Police department said that England was originally given $50,000 bail, but it was changed to held without bail at his bail review. 

"He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center," Batton said.

Engand has been charged with one count of destruction of property under $500, 2 counts of fourth-degree burglary, and one count of theft under $100, according to Batton.
