Parkville/Carney Crime: Yia Yia's Bakery Burglarized, Walgreens Robbed

Joppa Road, 3000 block. Between 7:15 p.m. Jan. 3 and 7:45 a.m. Jan. 4. Cash was stolen from after a burglar got inside by breaking glass on the front door to the building.
Upton Road at Woodcove Court. At 5:20 p.m. Jan. 4. A woman was robbed by a man who implied he had a gun. The victim was walking home from a store, when a man approached her and stole her purse and phone after implying he had a weapon.
The suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 50 years old with a dark complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and pants and a black knit hat.

Powderview Court, unit block. At 4:44 a.m. Jan. 4. Someone tried to break into a home, but woke the homeowner in the process. The victim heard a noise at the front door and woke up, then the home burglar alarm went off. The burglar never got inside, but police on the scene found a broken glass panel on the front door.
Whitcomb Circle, 2200 block. Between 1:15 and 5:15 p.m. Jan. 3. A watch, bracelet and coins were stolen from an apartment during a burglary.

Mountain Avenue, 1900 block. Between 10:10 and 10:49 a.m. Jan. 3. A man tried to break into a home by removing a window screen and opening a bedroom window. A man was in the house at the time, and he opened the blinds, startling the would-be burglar, who then fled.
Police responded with a helicopter and several ground units but were unable to locate the burglar.
Police are looking for a white man between 26 and 30 years old, who is approximately 5 foot 10 inch tall and 160 pounds with a medium build and short black hair, based on a description provided by the man who startled the burglar. The burglar was last seen wearing a brown hat, black jacket and grey sweatpants.
