Parkville Crime: Sign Pole Used In Attempted Double Rock Break-In

The following information was provided by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information supplied does not indicate a conviction.

Glen Road, 8200 block. Between 11 p.m. July 9 and 4 p.m. July 10. A sign pole, removed from the ground, was used in an attempt to break into a storage room at Double Rock Park by beating the door.

Whitelaw Place, unit block. Between 5 p.m. July 9 and 9 a.m. July 10. Someone tried to break into an apartment by pushing in a window screen but was unsuccessful.

Appleton Avenue, 3300 block. Between 7:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. July 9. A safe and cash were stolen from a home. Burglars got inside through a back door without using force.

California Avenue, 3000 block. Between 5 p.m. July 7 and 9 p.m. July 8. A home was burglarized but it is unknown if anything was stolen. Scrap metal was taken from the back yard of the home.

Oak Forest Drive, 3000 block. Between 7 p.m. July 8 and 9:30 a.m. July 9. Two GPS units were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Fountain Ridge Circle, unit  block. Between 9 p.m. July 3 and 1:45 a.m. July 8. Jewelry, a game system, keys, a watch and game cartridges were stolen from a home. A back door was pried open to get inside.

Topaz Road, 2800 block. Between 7 p.m. July 7 and 6 p.m. July 8. A lawnmower was stolen from a shed.

E. Joppa Road, 3300 block. Between 5:30 p.m. July 5 and 10:30 a.m. July 6. A detached garage was burglarized but nothing was stolen.

Cider Mill Road, 2300 block. Between 3 p.m. July 1 and 12:20 p.m. July 6. A home was burglarized but nothing was stolen. Burglars kicked in the back door to get inside.

Linbelle Terrace, 3500 block. Between 9 p.m. July 5 and 9 a.m. July 6. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Credit cards in the wallet were used at nearby 7-Eleven and Shell gas stores.

The burglar is described as a white male between 18 and 20 years old, approximately 6’ tall and 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black and white cap, black t-shirt, tan shorts and was driving a silver SUV, possibly a Toyota 4 Runner, according to a police report.

Creighton Avenue, 2500 block. Between 8:30 p.m. July 5 and 6:32 a.m. July 6. A vehicle parked in front of a home was vandalized. Eggs were thrown at the vehicle causing damage to the paint.

Borgia Court, unit block. At 7:30 p.m. July 5. Two juveniles jumped a fence and stole two bikes but were chased by two witnesses who caught up to the juveniles and recovered the stolen property.
