Parkville Man Arrested, Charged with Overlea Burglary

44-year-old Nelson Artez Ellis was arrested in connection with the burglary of an Overlea home earlier this week.

A Parkville man has been arrested and charged in connection with the burglary of an Overlea home earlier this week.

An X-Box 360, jewelry, a camera and a Nintendo DS were stolen from a home in the unit block of Madeline Avenue in Overlea Tuesday morning shortly after 8 a.m.

The victim arrived home as the burglar was leaving her house and called police.

Police arrested Nelson Artez Ellis, who was driving a 2003 Ford E-250 with fake license plates 4AG9715, at his home in the 6100 block of Old Harford Road.

Electronic court records show that Ellis was charged with two counts each of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, and malicious destruction of property. He was also charged with one court each of attempted escape, second-degree assault, and theft between $1,000 and $10,000.

According to the online Maryland Judiciary Case Search, Ellis is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 15 at 8:30 a.m.

On May 14, court records show that a criminal indictment was handed down against Ellis in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. He was indicted on one count each of first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property and theft from $1,000 to $10,000.

The indictment charges stem from an April 18 burglary in Perry Hall when Ellis and another man were arrested shortly after they allegedly broke into a home in the 5100 block of Forge Haven Drive.
