Parkville Man Gets 27 Years In 'Sex Slave' Case

John Andrew Blaes, 49, was sentenced in federal court to 27 years in prison after he admitted to transporting a 15-year-old girl from North Carolina to Parkville to engage in a BDSM relationship.

A Parkville man who pleaded guilty to transportation of a minor to engage in sex and conspiracy to produce child pornography has been sentenced to 27 years in prison.

John Andrew Blaes, 49, of the 8600 block of Wendell Avenue was sentenced Tuesday afternoon by U.S. District Judge James K Bredar, according to a news release from the Office of the US Attorney for Maryland.

Bredar also ordered that upon his release Blaes must register as a sex offender.

Blaes and his then-girlfriend Margaret Ellen Jones both admitted in court that during July 2011 Blaes solicited a 15-year-old North Carolina girl to have sex with them, according to the news release.

From July until November 2011, the girl lived with the couple in their Parkville home and was ordered to keep her age and the nature of their relationship a secret, according to a federal indictment against the couple.

During that time, the girl was made to address Blaes as "sir" or "master" and Jones as "mistress," the document states. The girl had sex with the couple multiple times each week. Blaes cut her then held lemons to her injuries.

The couple also admitted to using cell phones and cameras to document the sexual abuse and posting those photos to the internet in order to recruit other women into their lifestyle, the document states.

Margaret Ellen Jones entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to produce child pornography in court before Judge Bredar last week. She is scheduled for sentencing at 4 p.m., July 11 of this year.
