Parkville Man Pleads Guilty In 'Sex Slave' Case

A Parkville man pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to charges stemming from an incident where he and a woman allegedly enslaved a teenage girl for sex.

John Andrew Blaes, 49, of the 8600 block of Wendell Avenue in Parkville pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce child pornography and transporting a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct, The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced in a press release.

Blaes faces a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 years in prison for the conspiracy charge and 10 years to life in prison for the transportation charge, followed by up to a lifetime of supervised release, the release states.

A sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 19.

Blaes and his alleged co-conspirator, 36-year-old Margaret Ellen Jones, .

At that time, Patch reported that the federal indictment against Blaes and Jones stated that the couple met online in 2010 and became involved in a sexual relationship involving "bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism."

On July 5, 2011, Blaes contacted the victim, a 15-year-old North Carolina girl, and solicited her for sex, knowing she was a vulnerable minor, according to the plea agreement. Both Blaes and Jones sent the girl pornographic pictures of themselves over the internet, the plea agreement stated.

The couple traveled from Maryland to the victim’s home to bring her to live with them in Parkville on July 22, 2011, according to the plea agreement.

After picking the victim up the couple "sexually abused the victim in the back of their vehicle, including bondage with ropes, chains, and clamps," the plea agreement said. The next day, Blaes and the co-conspirator rented a hotel room to have sex with the girl in.

Between July 22, 2011 to Nov. 20, 2011, the couple had sex with the girl multiple times per week. According to the plea agreement, Blaes would also "cut the girl and hold lemons to her injuries", and "instructed that she call him her 'master' or 'sir' and to call the co-conspirator 'mistress.'"

The girl, who was not enrolled in school, was instructed to keep the sexual conduct and her age a secret. The victim was kept in the residence or in the suspects' control at all times, the plea agreement said.

The couple used a camera to document their abuse of the girl and distributed the photos online in order to recruit other women into his lifestyle.
