Parkville Woman Sentenced to 15 Years in Child Pornography Case

Prosecutors had alleged that Margaret Jones and boyfriend John Blaes sexually abused a 15-year-old North Carolina girl.

A federal judge has sentenced a Parkville woman to 15 years in federal prison on a child pornography conviction.

The Baltimore Sun reports Margaret Ellen Jones, 38, was sentenced as a result of a plea agreement for conspiracy to produce child pornography. Jones was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release, according to the report.

Prosecutors said Jones and co-conspirator John Andrew Blaes of Parkville (who was earlier sentenced to 27 years for his guilty plea in the case) were in a relationship and used the Internet to recruit women.

Prosecutors had alleged that in 2011, Blaes solicited a 15-year-old North Carolina girl, then picked her up there, brought her to Parkville, then abused her. According to prosecutors, the pair had sex with the girl multiple times per week, then distributed videos online. Both were indicted in 2012.
