Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries In Saturday Crash

A Parkville man was struck by a minivan and transported to Shock Trauma.

A Parkville man was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries following a Saturday night crash.

The 59-year-old man was walking in the center of eastbound Putty Hill Avenue around 8:48 p.m. Jan. 12 when he was hit by a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country van, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve when she saw the man walking in the road but struck him, Batton said.

The driver, a 40-year-old Nottingham woman, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Batton said.

Batton said the crash remains under investigation and that charges are pending.
