Police Arrest Carney Man In Walgreens Purse Snatching

Officer Mark Dorsey with Parkville Precinct said that two sex offenses within the last year will also be cleared as a result of the arrest.

Police have released the identity of a 19-year-old Carney man charged with robbing a woman outside a Carney Walgreens.

Jordan Anthony Snyder, 19, of the 3200 block of E. Joppa Road, has been charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft in connection with an Oct. 31 purse-snatching outside the convenience store in the 9800 block of Harford Road.

Police say that security tapes showed Snyder waiting outside the store, pushing his victim to the ground and running off with her purse.

Officers in the area responded and were able to arrest him in the area of 10th Avenue, according to a police report.

Officer Mark Dorsey, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Police Department's Parkville precinct, said that two cases of sexual assault will be cleared as a result of Snyder's arrest.

Two women, who had been sexually assaulted during the last year, each independently identified Snyder as their assailant during a photo show at the precinct after his arrest, Dorsey said.

One of the incidents took place outside a Carney-area nail salon and the other took place off Oak Summit Avenue. In both cases, the women allege that Snyder grabbed them inappropriately, according to Dorsey.

"He will be charged with two counts of fourth-degree sex offense as soon as the investigating officer obtains a warrant," Dorsey said.

Snyder is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center on the robbery charges.
