Police: Be Vigilant, String of Burglaries on Magledt Road

Officers at Parkville precinct are telling residents to exercise extra caution following a series of residential burglaries this week.

In the wake of a series of residential burglaries in Carney this week, Baltimore County police are advising residents to take three steps to protect their homes:

  • Make sure your doors are locked.
  • Illuminate the areas surrounding your house.  
  • Call 911 to report suspicious individuals.

The burglaries spurring the police warnings occurred on Magledt Road between Monday and Friday.

The details of the crimes are listed below:

Magledt Road, 9800 block. Between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. Mar. 30. Change was stolen from a car parked at a house. The thief then broke into the house, ransacked it and left, taking only the change from the car.

Magledt Road, 9800 block. At 2:30 a.m. Mar. 30. A homeowner was awakened by a noise coming from her sunroom. After hearing someone walking in the room, she immediately called 911.

Police arrived to find a fresh set of footprints, but the burglar had fled. No property was taken.

Magledt Road, 9800 block. Between 10:30 p.m. Mar. 29 and 6:30 a.m. Mar. 30. A burglar entered the house through a window, stole a purse, then left out the same window.

The burglar emptied the purse's contents in the front yard and stole the cash and gift cards.

Magledt Road, 9700 block. Between 10 p.m. Mar. 24 and 8:30 a.m. Mar. 25. A burglar stole $10 in change and $700 in bills from a home after entering it and ransacking a purse and drawers.
