Police Investigate Monday Night Shooting Near Fullerton Elementary

Investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence.

County police are investigating an incident in which a man was shot multiple times Monday night in Overlea-Fullerton.

Around 11:51 p.m. an unidentified man was walking along Fullerton Avenue "near Fullerton Elementary School" on his way to the store, according to Cpl. Cathleen Batton, a Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman.

As the man neared the intersection of Fullerton and Linden Avenues, a vehicle pulled up alongside him, someone reached out the window and fired several shots striking the victim multiple times, Batton said.

The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital, Batton said. 

Police do not believe that the incident was a random act of violence, according to Batton.
