Police make arrest in 7-Eleven robbery

Robber confesses to the crime

Just one week after the 7-Eleven store at the corner of Kenwood Ave. & Golden Ring Road was robbed on Dec. 2, it was robbed again. But this time, police say they arrested the robber.

Police arrested Ralph Edward Williams, 32, who has no fixed address, and charged him with armed robbery in connection with the Dec.9 incident.  Police have no reason to believe that the two robberies were connected and the person involved in the Dec. 2 incident remains at large.

Williams is alleged to have robbed the 7-Eleven store, located at 6401 Golden Ring Road, on Dec. 9, around 5 a.m.  The suspect approached the register as though he was going to purchase an item, then pulled out a screwdriver and demanded the clerk step away from the register.  The suspect then stole $50 and fled in an SUV.
