Police Name New Captain for Parkville Precinct

Capt. Gordon Skinner will take over for Capt. Thomas J. Busch, who retired from the precinct at the beginning of November.

After operating for a little more than a month under the supervision of interim commander Lt. Paul Franzoni, Parkville Precinct has a new captain.

The Baltimore County Police Department annouced on Thursday night that they were naming five new precinct captains to replace those who recently retired as part of the early November command staff departures, or who were promoted to department command staff on Wednesday.

Police Chief James Johnson announced yesterday afternoon that Capt. Gordon Skinner will take over command of the Parkville station beginning on Dec. 16, according to a county-issued press release.

Skinner is currently assigned to the Safe Schools division of the department and will fill in a position left vacant when Capt. Thomas Busch retired at the beginning of last month after 37 years with the department.

Parkville Precinct provides service to Parkville, Carney and Cub Hill as well as parts of Perry Hall, Nottingham, Fullerton and Overlea.

Other precincts that will see a change in leadership as a result of the announcement include Woodlawn, Towson, Cockeysville and Essex, according to the release.

Keep an eye out for an interview with the incoming Capt. Skinner some time in the next week here on Parkville-Overlea Patch.
