Police Raid Parkville Massage Parlor in Prostitution Sting

Baltimore County detectives served a search warrant on the Harford Road massage parlor Tuesday evening.

A Harford Road massage parlor appears to be closed Wednesday after Baltimore County detectives raided it Tuesday night with a search warrant.

One person was arrested on charges of prostitution during the course of the investigation of Sunny Spa Asian Massage and Table Shower, according to police. The name of the individual who was arrested has not been released.

Detective Cathy Batton, a spokeswoman for the police department, told Patch that county detectives were accompanied by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during the operation, but that the investigation is currently under the jurisdiction of Baltimore County Police Department.

Signs and window coverings that advertised the business, located at 8604 Harford Road, were missing Tuesday morning when Patch got the tip that the business had been raided.

"I don't know that the business is closed," Batton said. "The reason for the missing signs is that they were seized during the investigation."

Police closed down another massage parlor on Harford Road in October 2011, when they arrested a New York woman on charges of prostitution.

In May 2011, a raid at a massage parlor on Belair Road in Overlea opened an investigation into a multi-state prostitution ring.

I think the business should be ashamed of themselves. I am glad the police arrested them.

I much rather have this done in a home behind closed doors instead of the countless drug addict Prostitutes that walk harford rd. Legalize drugs and prostitution and allow it in a dedicated area.

Right on bigworm...we are wasting too nich money jailing people who commit nonviolent crimes. Drugs and prostitition should be legalized, regulated and taxed. With drugs legalized, the price will drop dramatically and so will crime as a result.

It sounds great but the fact is crime drives or economy and creates millions of jobs so this would never happen in america. I would love to see the police go after the crook doctors giving out all them perscriptions for the rich man heroin Oxys . Something that has killed too many people in perry hall in parksville. Not some rub and tug spot

It's much bigger than that. There are woman sometimes children being forced into these places. Not to mention how it a affects a community. Way to go Parkville Police!

We don't know the facts so we all shouldn't assume. We don't know if the whole place was crooked or if there was an isolated event. Same as if they were forced?? I would hope the agencies that check out that sort of thing when any business open were on top pf it.Now if laws were broken, great job.

The fact that ICE was involved, all but spells out there were some shady things going on. Again, conceptually, I agree with the idea of legalizing prostitution and SOME drugs (marijuana, specifically), but it'd have to be well managed/controlled. It would take time.

This story won't have a happy ending.

Ok, I won't assume that a massage and table shower parlor open all hours is a shady place. If you don't assume that the people that work there are just happy crack heads glad to be off the streets.
