Road Crew Strikes Gas Line On Pitney Road

Baltimore County Police and Fire departments are on the scene while a BGE crew is working to contain the leak.

A 1-inch gas line was struck Monday morning, causing a few road closures in a Parkville neighborhood.

Construction crews struck the line in the Kings Ridge neighborhood around 11 a.m. while digging as part of a road resurfacing project.

Police officers on the scene told Patch that an evacuation of the neighborhood was unlikely since the leak is in the street and not in a home. Still, officers visited a few residents to let them know about the situation.
