Spill Causes Snag on Route 43 at Walther

Tractor trailer leaking fuel has traffic clogged.

Police, fire, and hazmat crews, along with the State Highway Department and the Maryland Department of the Environment, were on the scene of a fuel spill Tuesday afternoon that caused a traffic backup on Route 43 westbound near I-695.

The call first came in around 2:50 p.m., according to Detective Cathy Batten with the Baltimore County police department. Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Route 43 and Walther Boulevard to deal with a tractor trailer leaking fuel.

"There was no collision as far as I can tell, just a truck leaking fuel," Batten said.
